While working on a writing project (notice the ink stains), I reached into my Oceanic Airlines coffee mug for a new marker and spasmed my hand directly onto my scissors. They weren't upside down, the force of my spasm pushed my finger down into the cup and the edge of the scissors caught on my thumb.

This is as a result from the contusions in my head after getting hit by the car. I'll often get clogged up and then when my nose bleeds, it bleeds.

Sid's in Blue Island

For those coming in late, I was hit by a car in March of 1989. Exactly one week before, as a joke to mail to my good writing buddy Sid Williams, I had this photo taken in front of Sid's. EVERYTHING I was wearing in this photo was cut off of me (above the waist). My Pancake Pantry cap was in the wind, and the copy of my Nelson Algren book NEVER COME MORNING was bent in half, but it survived.

I would like to add that I have directed my audience over from my previous blog, 55th & Fairfield. I have a digital camera now and there will be many more photos here. For those not in the know, I'm a fiction writer with cerebral palsy. This accounts for much of my, uh, body modifications.
